Gregory Smith

I am a journeyman lineman with IBEW Local 602 in the Houston area. Twenty years in the trade. The work got in my hands young.

Stay Grounded is the public record of my recovery and the days that follow it. I write so I stay honest about whether today matched the path that got me out of the hole — work, marriage, sleep, telling the truth, not isolating.

My wife Tonya is in this with me. We have talked about putting the longer story in a book. These pages are the trail.

I am a chronic relapser on purpose in the language I use. This is not chapter one of a tidy book. It is a man still here, still working, still capable of sliding.
